This disturbing and surreal composition shows a naked, unconscious man laid out on a narrow platform, his body exposed and vulnerable in a dark, undefined space. Around him gather grotesque, goblin-like figures who prod, inspect, and toy with his inert form, transforming the scene into a nightmarish vision of helplessness and psychological torment. Cooper’s sharp contrasts and eerie lighting heighten the sense of claustrophobia and dread, blurring the boundary between dream, hallucination, and inner fear.
