In Heaven and Hell, Octave Tassaert presents a dramatic moral vision divided between salvation and damnation. Above, angels guide souls upward into a calm, radiant realm, while below, tangled nude figures fall into darkness, fire, and despair. The swirling composition and stark contrasts of light and shadow emphasize human vulnerability, spiritual struggle, and the thin boundary between redemption and eternal suffering.

Frame:

Created from high-quality wood, milled with simple clean lines and presented with a satin finish. Includes an off-white mount that will not discolour or fade with age.
