Kirkstall Abbey, Leeds by Moonlight — Walter Linsley Meegan (c. 1880–1899).

A haunting Victorian nocturne shaped by the influence of Romanticism. Gothic ruins, moonlight and solitary figures create a melancholy scene that emphasises the smallness of human life against the vastness of nature.
