The Tryst by Samuel Colman (1780-1845) captures the quiet romance of a moonlit countryside. Beneath a glowing night sky, two figures meet at a garden gate, surrounded by shadowed trees, a distant church, and softly illuminated cottages. The tranquil landscape and silvery moonlight create an atmosphere of mystery, longing, and timeless beauty.
