In Pan, Mikhail Vrubel portrays the ancient woodland god as a mysterious, almost human figure emerging from a twilight landscape. With piercing blue eyes, curling horns, and a weathered face framed by wild hair and beard, Pan sits quietly among trees at dusk, holding his pipes. Rather than a wild reveler, Vrubel presents him as a solitary spirit of nature—ancient, contemplative, and deeply tied to the silent forests and fading light of the countryside.
